Eligibility:

For all classes can be found in the current 2024 BRC Handbook (page 90 – please note –  horses may compete in two consecutive heights in the Combined Challenge qualifier – i.e. 70cm & 80cm / 80cm & 90cm / 90cm & 100cm). Eligibility will be taken from the close of pre-entry. All competitors must be a member and be on the BRC Database by midday the Friday before the qualifier. Anyone failing to meet the eligibility criteria will be disqualified and informed by BRC HQ when the results are processed.

 Rules:

This competition will run under BRC Rules, anyone in attendance will be bound by the BRC Code of Conduct. BRC Code of Conduct/Showground Rules:

The BRC code of conduct must be observed at all BRC events, this includes the conduct of members, officials, volunteers and representatives. A full summary of the BRC code of conduct can be found in section 1 page 3 of the BRC handbook. This includes, horse/pony welfare, safeguarding, equality and diversity, good conduct and discipline and social media. Any person on the show ground must follow all instructions that are made.

 

All entrants must submit a pre-entry to BRC (fees can be found in the current BRC Handbook) at least 21 days before the date of the qualifier. Pre-entries can be made via the pre-entry website https://brc.bhs.org.uk/login?referral=%2Fselect . Late pre-entries may be accepted at the discretion of the organiser and Area Rep with a late surcharge of £10 per individual and £20 per team (payable to BRC HQ) if space permits.  Late entries cannot be guaranteed and so therefore must not be paid for until approval from the organiser and Area Rep has been gained.

Once the pre-entry has been made, an area entry must be made via the details outlined on this schedule.


If the date of the qualifier is cancelled for any reason and rescheduled within 21 days, the close of pre-entry will remain. If the qualifier is rescheduled for more than 21 days after the original date, entries will re-open. Late entry fees will not be refunded.  Eligibility is taken from the Friday before the qualifier, regardless of rescheduling. Pre-entries that cannot attend the new date may be issued a credit note but the Team Manager must inform the office in writing before the cut-off date which the area will be informed of upon rescheduling.

 

Competitors must wear the correct standard hats - Rule G22.2 refers.

All hats must have a visible current BRC/BE/PC PINK hat tag in place before they are worn on the showground, to show that they meet the current safety standards.  There will be a trained official available on the day to do this for you if your hat does not currently have one. Body Protectors

A body protector is mandatory for this competition.

From 1st January 2024 the BETA Level 3 Purple Label 2009 will no longer be accepted for riders to use in BRC competitions.

It is the rider’s responsibility to ensure they wear a body protector with the BETA Level 2018 Blue label.

The only exception being Exo Body Cage 2000 - Rule G22.3. refers.

 

Hats & Body Protectors are required to be produced for inspection at Flu Vacc checking.

 

Flu Vaccinations & Microchips

Horse’s must have up to date influenza vaccinations following rule G7 in the current BRC Handbook. There is also an excel date checker spreadsheet available to download on the BRC website.

It is compulsory for all horses to be microchipped

It is the rider’s responsibility to ensure the horse is chipped and it is traceable.

Team Managers: Please ensure all your competitors are aware they MUST have their Flu Vacc certificates checked before competing, along with body protectors and hats. Failure to do so may result in elimination.

G5.2: Riders Age

Senior classes are for members over 18 years on joining / renewing their membership

Junior classes are for competitors aged under 18 years on joining / renewing their membership and will remain a junior until they renew.

Any item of jewellery or alternative medical treatment wristbands must be covered up by clothing or gloves, if they cannot be removed, at the riders own risk.

Hair must be neatly secured and must not hang lower than the shoulder line (when standing normally).

Only competitors may work in a horse/pony before a class/phase.

Children aged 16 years and under must not be left unattended in vehicles.
Individuals under the age of 12 are not permitted in warm-up arenas on foot under any circumstances. Rule G20.2 refers.

Dogs must be on a lead.

No horses to be left unattended tied up outside horseboxes/trailers.

Cars to be parked in allocated area only.

Please pick all litter, muck and hay from around your horsebox in the parking area and take home.

Competition numbers are to be provided by Competitors, along with number bibs.
