Combined Equine Treadmill taster session and the combi floor treatment at the Amazing Honington Grange , this is a superb highly equipped rehab and treatment centre, run by 4/5* Eventers in the Beautiful Grantham countryside.

If it fills very quickly I will try organise another one around about the same few days.

There are only 7 water treadmill sessions available each of which can come with a Combifloor session prior to it which warms the horse up and treats at the same time . (Controlled vibration with pulsed electromagnetic field therapy or PEMF )

The owner stands on the combi floor and stands with the horse.

You can book and pay for one or both but it is suggested both would be most beneficial
The time session booked is the time for the treadmill, the combifloor session will be for 20 minutes prior to the treadmill.

Water Treadmill alone £35
Combifloor and treadmill £50
(significantly reduced) to our riding club members.

They also offer a superb range of top quality treatments for people as well as horses.

Including
Cryochamber
Infared sauna,
Saunas and pool
Facials /massages/sports massages can be arranged if requested and enough demand.

Limited Day stables can be arranged if some people want to do both people and horse sessions?

We suggest anyone interested clicks on the link and reads up on all the horse treatments and what they involve and also checks out the beautiful facilities for people ? Extras can be booked directly ?

What is a Combi Floor?

The Combi-Floor is a state-of-the-art equine therapy floor which combines controlled vibration with Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy (PEMF). It can be used pre warm up and post exercise for recovery and rehabilitation. It is possible to use a single therapy or a combination of therapies at any one time, with the frequency and intensity able to be altered.
The Combi-Floor also has a weigh bridge incorporated so you can accurately track your horses weight.

What does a Combi Floor Do?
The Combi Floor uses PEMF therapy. PEMF therapy uses small electrical signals that stimulate cells, this allows more nutrients to enter the cell and for more waste products to be removed from the cell. Once enough cells are restored, they work more efficiently and thus improve recovery time.
Combi Floor is suitable for;
Soft tissue injuriees
Hoof problems
Fractures
Circulation improvements
Recovery acceleration
Developing muscle tone
Accelerating rehabilitation process
Scientific Statements
Early application of pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) therapy on bone fractures concludes that the healing success rate was significantly higher than no treatment (77% compared with 48.1%) — Shi et al., (2013)

PEMF therapy is a safe, non invasive treatment that can be used alone or in conjunction with other treatments and therapies — Gaynor et al., (2018)

PEMF therapy is a useful method in treating joint disease and inflammation
— Lin and Lu., (2009)

Benefits of the Equine Aqua Treadmill
The high resistance of the water leads to increased muscle activity.
The water pressure helps to reduce swelling and stimulates circulation of the lower limbs.
The cold temperature of the water helps reduce any pain present.
Enables controlled, supervised exercise for rehabilitation and aerobic activity.
Improves performance
Encourages soft tissue mobilisation
Develops core strength
Hydrostatic pressure assists circulation and reduces swelling
Improves length of stride
Reduces concussion
Improves fitness and stamina
Improves flexibility and suppleness
Promotes muscle development
Reduces recovery time from some injuries by 50-60%
Improves muscle tone and strength
Reduced weight bearing by 40-60% when used with greater water depth
Encourages lateral flexion of the back
Aqua walk and trot training can increase cardiovascular activity, stride length, muscle tone and strength.
The height of the water can be adapted, starting off with short, dry treadmill sessions for the inexperienced or rehabilitation cases with wattle progressively getting deeper with each session. Deeper water encourages longer stride length with a decreased frequency which results in increased back extension and flexion.
Features of the FMBS Equine Aqua-Treadmill
The front sides of the treadmill are lower, allowing the horse to move in a natural outline in a non-concussive environment while still working the legs to build strong tendons and ligaments.
The treadmill has been built using high grade stainless steel construction
There is rapid filling and emptying of the water reducing waiting time before and after the session.
Fully transparent doors and sides enables you to view exactly how your horse is moving through the water.
Scientific Statements
As water depth increases from hoof height, stride frequency is decreased while distal joint flexion and flexion of the lumbar vertebrae is increased.
— Mendez-Angulo et al., (2014)
Hydrotherapy has been found to improve cardiovascular capacity, increase muscle tone and strength, and increase range of motion.
— King et al., (2012)
A lower water depth encourages the horse to lower their head and neck, encouraging thoracic extension (stretch over the back).
— Munoz et al., (2019)
