Following the BRC Advisory Committee Meeting a few weeks a few weeks ago, here are a few rule changes made due to member feedback to decrease confusion (not just for members but BRC as well!) with some re-naming of classes and tests.
Following feedback and confusion with BRC dressage this year, BRC will be making some name changes which will help solve these issues. These will come into effect from 1 October.
The first will be the class names, which will change as follows:
Introductory Winter Dressage will change to Grassroots Winter Dressage
Novice Winter Dressage will change to Intermediate Winter Dressage
Intermediate Winter Dressage will change to Open Winter Dressage
By making this change the Introductory and Novice names are removed which are dressage levels and were the main point of mix-up.
The second change will be the BRC Dressage Tests, having similar names to the BD tests caused some confusion for team managers and riders so we will be renaming the tests as follows:
BRC Prelim 1 will change to BRC Prelim A
BRC Prelim 2 will change to BRC Prelim B and so on
None of these changes will affect the competitions, it will be purely a name change.
Another notable change is that gloves will no longer be compulsory for dressage competition or the dressage phase of competitions. With immediate effect.
