We are always striving to give our members a variety of events for everyone to enjoy whether it be competing, improving our riding and horses way of going. Or just to go out on a Pleasure Ride 2012 will see us continuing to try and do this.
Where are we?
Our outdoor events are again to be at Manor Farm Aylesby by kind permission of Mr John Spilman. The ground is fair and it is always improving and we have good access with plenty of room for parking, plus a flushing toilet which is always a good point.
For Winter Events and Training we have secured dates at the LRAC at Kenwick, Louth and following feedback from the members these have been booked mainly for Sunday dates.
Training in Flatwork and Show Jumping thanks to Kristina West have really proved popular in 2011 and dates for 2012 are already in the diary, but be quick as spaces generally go fast. See more detail on the training page or check the website for dates. These sessions are aimed at all abilities of horse and rider.
Do you want to represent the club?
We send teams and Individuals to all BRC qualifiers in all disciplines. We do not have a selection process so if you are interested and jumping at novice level upwards or can do a respectable Prelim Dressage test contact Caroline West. We are very fortunate to have in Caroline such a capable, supportive team manager and she will gladly answer any queries you may have. A £15 deposit is required before any entry for any Qualifying event please!
2011 Saw the club represented and doing well at all of the Championships including the Royal Windsor Horse Show - (we are organising the dressage qualifier for this on 1st April 2012 more detail further in book) We also had two members Lauren West and Ros Canter riding in the European Championship CIC** and the competing team with Ros winning the Gold Medal!
How can you help?
It takes a lot of organising for events so please support your club by volunteering even if you can only spare an hour by competing with the club spreading the word and taking schedules/posters to any other events you go to. Any profit the club makes is put directly back in to replace equipment, hire of events and helping with fees for the championships.
Membership
Changes have been introduced for 2012 by Head Office. The membership year and subscriptions remain the same and forms should be sent to Julie Sweeting as usual. The main Change is that Head Office will now be issuing membership cards. Julie will be submitting lists of new members regularly to Head Office and cards will then be sent out once a month to members on the list as at the 14th of each month. Hopefully there should be no problems but if you have any queries please contact Julie Sweeting on 01472 597695 or email thesweetings1986@btinternet.com.
What do your committee do?
Here is a short list to give you an idea, there are probably many more jobs I have forgotten to mention but get done anyway, usually by the same few faces. So this is the reason that if anyone offers us help even for the little things we really appreciate it!
